History:
In Inca mythology, Viracocha was the invisible deity who created the Andean worldview. He was considered the original radiance, the Lord, the Master of the World. He was the first deity of the ancient tiahuanacos, who came from Lake Titicaca. He rose from the waters and created heaven and earth. His birth ensured the light expressed in the creation of the sun, moon and stars. He was considered the creator of all things, or the substance from which all things are created, and intimately linked to the sea. Viracocha created the universe; the sun, moon and stars; time; and civilization itself.
Meaning:
He has the appearance of a man, wears light like a crown, holds two sticks in his hands like rays and tears are visible on his face, representing rain. These symbols represent the natural elements that demonstrate that he is the creator. Viracocha represents eternal radiance, the source of life, knowledge and creation. Its divinity makes it a talisman of luck and abundance.
